Turn the Design Into a Physical Approval Sample
For OEM and private label jewelry orders, sampling is the stage where a drawing, reference image, CAD file or existing sample is converted into a physical product that can be checked before mass production.
Velcena Jewelry supports sample development for jewelry brands, wholesalers, importers, distributors and retail programs. Depending on the project, sampling may include CAD or 3D work, material confirmation, mold development, plating, stone setting, engraving and packaging review.
The purpose is not only to show how the jewelry looks. The sample should confirm the specifications that production and QC will follow later.

What We Check During Sampling
A sample should be reviewed against the actual order requirement rather than judged only from a product photo.
Important confirmation points may include:
- Overall dimensions and proportions
- Base material
- Plating color and surface finish
- Stone or decorative component position
- Component connections
- Ring, clasp, post or other functional parts
- Logo or engraving
- Overall appearance and workmanship
For projects with branded packaging, the jewelry sample and packaging sample can also be reviewed together before bulk packing.

First Sample, Revision and Final Approval
The first physical sample may be approved directly or used to identify details that need adjustment.
Common revisions can involve dimensions, component position, plating color, stone size, logo scale or surface appearance. When a change is required, the revised requirement should be documented clearly so the next sample can be compared against the first version.
Side-by-side comparison is especially useful when the difference is small. It helps buyers confirm which size, finish or detail should become the production reference.
Typical Sampling Time
Most jewelry samples take around 7–15 days, depending on design complexity, mold requirements, material, plating, stone setting and finishing.
A simple modification to an existing style may require less development than a completely new shape with mold work and several custom components.
Late changes after the sample has already been finished may require another sample round. For this reason, dimensions, material, plating and branding details should be confirmed as early as possible.
From Approved Sample to Bulk Production
Once the buyer approves the physical sample and key specification, that sample becomes the main reference for bulk production.
Typical MOQ is around 100–300 pcs per style. New molds, deeper customization or special packaging normally require around 300–500 pcs or above.
Standard bulk production usually takes around 25–35 days after sample approval, depending on quantity, construction, finishing and packaging.
During production, checks are made against the approved sample for dimensions, appearance, plating, stone setting, function, logo and packing. The next stage can be reviewed through our Jewelry Production Process.

To prepare a sampling plan, please send:
- Jewelry type or reference design
- Drawing, CAD file, photo or existing sample
- Target dimensions
- Preferred material
- Plating or finish requirement
- Stone or decorative component details
- Logo or engraving requirement
- Estimated order quantity
- Packaging requirement if applicable
If every specification is not yet final, a clear reference image and target quantity are enough for an initial review. We can then identify which details need to be confirmed before the sample is made.
