Adjust Jewelry Dimensions for the Target Collection
Size customization in jewelry is not limited to making a product larger or smaller. Changes to length, width, thickness, diameter or component proportions can affect appearance, weight, assembly, stone position and manufacturing feasibility.
Velcena Jewelry supports size and style development for jewelry brands, wholesalers, importers, distributors and private-label programs. Buyers can provide a drawing, reference photo, existing sample or target dimensions, and we review the requested changes before sampling.
For projects starting from a new concept rather than an existing style, the specification can first be developed through our Custom Jewelry Development process.
Size Specifications by Jewelry Type
Different jewelry categories require different measurements, so we confirm the dimensions that actually affect production and fit.
For necklaces, specifications may include chain length, extension chain, pendant width, pendant height and component position. Earrings may require diameter, drop length, post construction or hoop size. Rings require ring size, band width and setting dimensions, while bracelets may involve chain length, bangle diameter, charm dimensions or adjustable sections.
Brooches, charms and hair jewelry may require additional confirmation around pin length, clip structure, attachment points or decorative component dimensions.
A complete specification does not need to be available at the beginning. Reference measurements can be checked during sample development and updated before approval.
Style Changes Without Losing the Original Design
Many OEM projects begin with an existing reference that needs to be adapted for a new collection.
Typical style adjustments can include:
- Changing pendant or charm proportions
- Modifying chain or component configuration
- Adjusting ring or bracelet dimensions
- Changing earring length or hoop diameter
- Adding or removing decorative elements
- Revising stone positions or component spacing
- Developing related variations from one base design
When a change affects the product structure, CAD, mold development or a revised sample may be required. We review this before production so the final design can be repeated consistently in bulk.
Material and surface changes related to the revised style can be confirmed separately through Material & Finish Customization.
Sample and Dimension Approval
The physical sample is used to confirm whether the requested size and proportions work as intended.
Typical sampling takes around 7–15 days, depending on the design, mold requirement, material, plating and finishing. During sample review, buyers should check overall dimensions as well as the relationship between components.
Important approval points may include:
- Overall length or diameter
- Width and thickness
- Pendant or charm proportion
- Ring size or bracelet fit
- Chain and component connections
- Stone or decorative element position
- Functional movement where applicable
If the first sample needs adjustment, the changed measurements should be documented before a revised sample is prepared. The complete approval process is covered on our Custom Jewelry Sampling page.
How Size and Style Changes Affect MOQ and Lead Time
Typical MOQ is around 100–300 pcs per style. Deeper structural changes, new molds or more complex development normally require around 300–500 pcs or above.
Standard bulk production usually takes around 25–35 days after sample approval. If dimensions or structure are changed after approval, a revised sample may be necessary and the production schedule should be updated accordingly.
What We Need for a Size or Style Review
Please provide the jewelry type, reference design, target dimensions, estimated quantity and any specific structural changes you require.
A reference sample or clear photo with measurements is often enough to begin. We can then identify which dimensions need to be confirmed before quotation and sampling.
